Summary Back to Top

This project was a system-wide investment consisting of new construction, renovation, and site work at multiple library branches throughout Geauga County.

The new Bainbridge branch is a 27,900 SF single-story building with a 2,160 SF lower level. In addition to providing the community with all that a traditional library has to offer, the new Bainbridge branch is intended to serve as a type of community center, with multiple meeting rooms, a unique makerspace, and two outdoor patios.

The new Thompson branch is an 8,596 SF single-story building featuring vaulted windows, an expansive children’s section, and a multi-media conference room with computer adaptive seating that can accommodate 108 people.

Work at the Middlefield branch consisted of installing new millwork at the circulation and reference desk, two new study rooms, new self-checkouts, new floor coverings, and paint throughout the main floor area.

Work at the Geauga West branch included a complete renovation of the existing public restrooms, three new study rooms, and infilling of the bond room pit area. A new concrete patio with an elevated seating area and structural steel trellis was also included.
